According to Fitbit, one of the most common reasons a Fitbit tracker is not working is due to syncing issues. These fitness devices sync with Android or iOS devices via Bluetooth, a technology that is not always reliable. Also, the charging problem is another common issue for Fitbits not turning on.
In addition to syncing and charging issues, there are other reasons your Fitbit is not properly working. Here they are:
- Battery problem.
- Time and clock issues.
- Update requirements.
- Button issues.
- Tap recognition and quick view issues.
If your Fitbit is not working because it doesn’t hold any charge, check your charging cables. It’s also helpful to clean your smartwatch to fix charging issues. Dust buildup can prevent your tracker from charging. If it’s not charging, try another USB port or use a UL-certified wall charger.
Your Fitbit may also not work due to update issues. If so, restart the device or try to sync with another computer or mobile device. After restarting your Fitbit, update the firmware in order to use the device again.
In case you can’t update the device, remove the Fitbit device from the Fitbit account. On your smartphone or mobile device:
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Fitbit device.
- Tap Remove this device.
On the other hand, if you’re using Fitbit’s website, follow these steps:
- Log into your Fitbit account.
- Click on the gear icon located on the upper right of the screen.
- Choose Settings and then click Devices.
- Tap Fitbit device.
- Select Remove this device from your account.
Now, add your Fitbit device to your account again. From the Account, select Set Up a Device and then follow the pop-up on the screen. Once you see your Fitbit has been successfully reconnected, click Update.
