MyFitnessPal is one of Fitbit’s most useful and accurate apps that lets you track your daily diet and activity.
By syncing your MyFitnessPal account with Fitbit, you can make the most of these tools and stick to a healthy lifestyle. However, some Fitbit users have complained about Fitbit and MyFitnessPal not syncing. Why does this happen?
Check if your Fitbit app on Apple’s Appstore or Google Play Store has any available updates. If so, delete the MyFitnessApp and reinstall it, which forces MyFitnessPal to reconnect to your Fitbit. Make sure the MyFitnessPal is recording your Fitbit steps, not another device.

How Do I Force My Fitbit to Sync With MyFitnessPal?
- Only login through MyFitnessPal and not Fitbit.
- Update both Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to the latest app version.
- Delete and reinstall MyFitnessPal (this should relink) the app to your Fitbit.
- Check if MyFitnessPal is correctly tracking your Fitbit steps.
If your Fitbit is not syncing with MyFitnessPal, ensure you are not logging your food on Fitbit, as it would not sync with MyFitnessPal from the Fitbit app. So only log your food intake with MyFitnessPal, which will sync with your Fitbit.
It’s only the case for food. Exercise and activities sync both ways between the apps.
If this does not work, try the following fixes:
- Make sure both your apps are updated to their latest versions.
- Delete the MyFitnessPal app from your Fitbit and phone and reinstall it on both devices. Once done, reconnect it to the Fitbit app on your phone.
