Your computer/laptop should also be Bluetooth enabled to make sure it can connect to your Fitbit tracker properly. If it’s not Bluetooth allowed, you need to buy a Fitbit wireless sync dongle which you can get for a great price on Amazon.
I use my phone to connect my Fitbit trackers. The computer applications have a lot of syncing issues that are a big hassle to fix. I advise you to use your phone as much as possible. Overall, these steps should make setting up your Fitbit trackers easier.
Why Is My Fitbit Not Working?
If your Fitbit does not work, plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger, clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker, and the pins of the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
Fitbit transfers data to your phone through Bluetooth. Unfortunately, when there are syncing issues, your Fitbit will not show any statistical data, which is why you’ll think it’s not working.
To learn more, you can read my article about if Fitbit uses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to understand how Fitbit transfers data to your phone.
The fastest solutions to try are:
- Switching the Bluetooth setting on and off.
- Forgetting your Fitbit tracker in the Bluetooth setting and connecting it again.
- Remove the Fitbit device from your account.
- Updating the Fitbit app in the App Store or Google Play Store.
If the fixes above don’t work, you need to troubleshoot your Fitbit tracker to know what part of your Fitbit is not working.
