According to Fitbit, the most common reason users can’t get into their app is that the app needs to be uninstalled, reinstalled, or restarted. Generally, this happens when the Fitbit app update doesn’t work with your phone’s current app version.

How Do I Get Back Into My Fitbit Account?
To get back into your Fitbit account, restart your phone and log in again. Again, it’s important to make sure your mobile device has enough internal memory to continue using the app without any problems. Clearing the app’s cache and data also works when fixing login issues.
Follow these steps to log into the Fitbit app again:
- Turn off your phone.
- Reboot and log in.
- If the first two steps don’t work, uninstall the application.
- Restart your phone, reinstall the app, and try again.
If you still can’t get back into your Fitbit app after trying these steps, turn off your VPN if you’re using one, your login sould work once it’s turned off. Also, a new app update may require new permissions, so make sure to adjust your settings to get into the app again. After successfully logging in, your data should not be affected.
You can also turn on the Set Automatically option for the date and time to sign in to your account. It should allow you to log in and sync the app and device. However, if none of this works, your last resort is to contact the support team and let them know about the issue.

Why Is My Fitbit Having Trouble Connecting?
The reasons why your Fitbit may be having trouble connecting include:
- The device is not paired with the app.
- Bluetooth is not enabled. Enabling Bluetooth will sync your Fitbit to your device.
- The OS is not updated. Check the latest version from Settings > General > Software Update.

You can also try to adjust your Date and Time settings and set them to Set Automatically. Surprisingly, it allowed me to sign in, and everything synced and worked just like the first time.
To set the Date and Time automatically on your iPhone, do the following:
- Open your iOS settings.
- Go to General.
- Click Date & Time.
- Toggle Set Automatically.
By following these steps, you should be able to log into the app. If you’re still having trouble connecting to your Fitbit, you can use the password recovery tool on the Fitbit website. How Do I Log Into My Fitbit on My Phone?
To log into your Fitbit on your phone:
- Open the app and enter your password.
- If you can’t log in with your password, click Forgot Password and enter your email address. You will receive an email with a link for a password reset.

During the setup and login process, I would suggest connecting the Fitbit device to the charger to complete the process without interruptions.
If you’re new to Fitbit and still don’t have the app on your mobile device, the notification will ask you to download the app from Google Play Store. Below are quick steps to create a Fitbit account on your device:
- Download the app from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Microsoft Store – whichever is required on your phone.
- Open the app and click Join Fitbit.
- Follow the instructions that you will see on your screen to create an account and pair the Fitbit device to your smartphone. Connecting the device to your phone makes sure it can communicate and sync your data.
If you’re using Fitbit Versa, Sense, and Ionic, you will be asked to connect the device to a Wi-Fi network. These Fitbit devices require an internet connection for the setup process, downloading apps and playlists, and speeding up Fitbit and firmware updates. So make sure to connect the device to a stable Wi-Fi network for a faster setup.
